Srila Prabhupada wrote in a letter dated 12 February 1970 to HG Vamanadeva prabhu "I am glad to learn that your Sunday Prasadam love feast has grown to fifty persons attending and participating in our Krishna Consciousness Program, and also you are holding successful Kirtana in the high schools. These young people are our future in Krishna Consciousness so try your best to convince them of the importance of this movement.

Bhakta Perkash Rao, an ISKCON Malaysia senior youth member was invited to make a presentation on Youth Development to the ISKCON Malaysia National Council members at the 1st Meeting of the 29th National Council at Riverstone Resort, Ulu Yam, Selangor.

He also quoted that many times the National Council chairman had mentioned about the need to set up a Youth movement in ISKCON and the urgent need for youths to take up important portfolios in the ISKCON Malaysia management. Perkash begged for the National Council members blessings before continuing with his multimedia presentation. He made a formal proposal to hold National Youth Convention this year to which the National Council members after a short debate not only gave their blessings but also pledged RM12,000 as a starter fund. But Perkash Rao was to find out how to raise whatever balance needed for the yourn convention by way of donations, participants fee, government grant etc. Perkash Rao was instructed to do all the necessary search for venue and budget. He proposed December 4-6 for the National Youth Convention and will soon set up a homepage for the said purpose. He requested Simhesvara dasa to help invite an ISKCON leader for the convention.
